Subject: Manwana
Dr. Clemmer, I felt sad and that we should do something but I didn't know what.
First of all my dad suggested two ideas: #1, we could pray about it; #2, we
could help by sending money to you. One way me and my grandfather get
change from bottles and I think that would be a way to help raise money.
Other times, just money that I gather. Can I send some money every couple
of months to help? If you get a chance to see Manwana you can give him
some, other times you can give it to other people who don't have much place to
live or family.
Thank you for helping the people in Congo.

Hi Timothy,
Thanks for your letter about Manwana. I had the same feelings you
did….feeling sad about a person that has so little (even the ability to walk)
and we have so much.
Hey…I thought of a way you can help. Manwana still really wants a
shirt (his mother bought him another woman’s shirt…..all she could find in the
local market). I bet you would know what kind of shirt a 10 year old boy would
want (better than me).
I’ll be home in Maine from March 7th to 14th . If you want to buy a shirt
and mail it to me, I’ll take it back to Africa and bring it to him (and even
send you a picture of him with his new shirt). Someone donated a wheel
chair so I need to bring that to him and thought having a wheel chair AND a cool
shirt would really make his day!
Our address is...
Thanks Timothy!

Thank you Dr. Clemmer,
I think that it is a good idea and we are going buy a shirt and send it to you.
We might get two just to make sure it is the right size.

Hi Timothy,
That’s great. …..because if it was the wrong size I don’t think we’d be able to
take it back in Africa.
He will surely appreciate it!

Subject: Manwana's gift
Hello Timothy,
I just arrived home last night after visiting hospitals and health centers in
the interior (600km or 4 days by jeep).
I made a point to visit a certain village…..and deliver a wheel chair and your
gift to Manwana.
I think one could say…..it made a hit! (see attached picture)
May God bless you……. for considering the needs of those without.
Sunday greetings from Africa,
Dr Clemmer
