Bob Beck founded the Good Samaritan Mission Council and has coordinated the past trips to La Romana in which our church has participated.  If you're familiar with this mission, you may recognize the names of those mentioned in this letter.

Hi,

This was a big day in La Romana.  The medical team from UMASS Medical School in Worcester, MA arrived.  There are about 14 doctors and 2 nurses.  They are on their way to Haiti as I write this email.

Since I sent out the link to Andy's photos some of you thought you recognized Elsa  -  You are correct.  She went along with hte team ans she is working in a function she has been responsible for ever since I started going to La Romana,  THE FOOD.

You have been asking for photos of Kristy.  I'm trying to get some.  Kristy is in charge of all the logistics of running the clinics and interfacing with other agencies so she's not on the front lines.  Be assured she is there and working hard.  As soon as I get photos I'll send them along.

I spoke with Moises  briefly earlier this evening and I'll share his plans with you along with the  well know fact that all things are subject to change.

Tonight the med teams leave for Haiti.  This time it's docs, nurses, translators, and food for the team.

ABCUSA IM has provided the hospital with a truck like Elsa's.  On Thursday Moises will go to Haiti with a couple of trucks full of food.  The group from Maine that is in La Romana this week is packaging up family food distribution packages.  Moises will bring two trucks full with him on Thursday.  Food distribution is becoming a more important part of the relief effort.

Next Week the medical team is coming from a NJ hospital.  Along with the team the La Romana church is sending two pastors to help people that are in terrible spiritual pain.  Estela and two other psychologist are also going to care for the difficulties people are having.

The week after that a medical group from Score International will be going to Haiti.

Kristy has met up with Billy Graham Ministries and they are partnering with Good Sam.  I need more info on just what this means and will pass it along.
